Is it not ironic that even the simplest products now come with instruction booklets, yet there is no such booklet for a job as important as parenting? Parent guidance focuses on supporting parents in this difficult task and in teaching skills to help them in their interactions with their children.  It may provide parents with effective strategies for dealing with problem behaviour in a child, teach parents strategies for managing their child’s learning difficulty and provide information on how to support their child in difficult times or after a traumatic experience.  In addition to face-to-face sessions with parents, some psychologists might also have telephonic sessions with parents.
